From Market Booth to Design Brand — A Journey of Growth, Family & Craft

Our Ganapati Crafts journey began when Yian, the founder, traveled to various countries and was enamored by the traditional handicrafts she encountered. 

She collected the contact information of her favorite artisans and dreamed of starting her own craft business one day. That day finally came in 2019 when she started as a vendor at the West Palm Beach Antique & Flea Market.

The pandemic: A Turning Point in Our Journey

The pandemic challenged small businesses everywhere, but it also transformed ours. Yian converted her live/work studio into a small shop and expanded online, slowly shifting Ganapati from a market booth into a design-focused brand.

A Design-Driven Brand

Today, Ganapati Crafts offers over 200 original designs in wool felt décor, toys, garlands, and handwoven bags.

Every year, Yian travels to Nepal to collaborate directly with artisans — refining details, developing new collections, and ensuring every piece carries intention and craftsmanship.

We source New Zealand wool and use Azo-free dyes, prioritizing quality, sustainability, and ethical production.

But beyond materials, our work is about people — building long-term relationships and creating opportunity for women artisans to support their families with dignity.

A Family Business

Chase, Yian’s husband, is a licensed landscape architect based in Florida. He has designed numerous private estates in Palm Beach and continues to take on select landscape design projects.

As Ganapati grew, he began dedicating more of his time to supporting the brand, bringing his design expertise and strategic vision into our growing company.

In 2025, we moved from our overflowing home studio into a warehouse just 10 minutes from our house.

We welcomed new team members, and Ganapati became more than one person — it became a small, agile team.

That same year, in June 2025, we welcomed our first baby, Alex.

He is now our favorite model, studio companion, and unofficial boss.
